Are you and your partner missing regular date nights? Whether you’re newly engaged, well into your wedding planning, or long past the I dos, every relationship needs quality time to keep the spark alive. Obviously cinema trips or candlelit dinners in your favourite restaurant are out of the question at the moment, but that doesn’t have to put a damper on romance! There are lots of ways to have a fun date night without leaving the house. Here are ten creative stay at home date night ideas for couples to enjoy together.
Have a wine/whisky/beer/chocolate tasting. A tasting is always a fun date, and is one you can easily do at home. Choose a few bottles or varieties you’ve both wanted to try, portion them into tasting samples, then compare and contrast the flavours as you sip and savour. You may even find a new fave to serve at your wedding!
Set up an indoor picnic. A picnic is always romantic, and having one indoors means never having to worry about the weather. Decorate the lounge with fairy lights, comfy pillows and blankets, and then serve plenty of delicious nibbles.
Indulge in an at-home spa day. Pamper your partner with a spa break in the comfort of your home. Start with face masks, then move on to massages, and end by sharing a deeply relaxing hot bubble bath.
Create an at-home cinema. If you have a projector, it’s easy to set up a home cinema either indoors or in the garden, and enjoy your favourite movie. Don’t forget the popcorn!
Have a Great British Bake Off. Cooking up a storm together is always fun, so why not turn your talents to creating some delicious sweet treats? Then sample them and decide which is better. Loser has to wash up!
Attend a virtual gig. There are so many virtual gigs popping up online at the moment, and plenty of concerts and comedy gigs available on video as well. Relive one of your favourite live experiences, or see someone you’ve always dreamed of seeing together. And don’t be shy to sing and dance along!
Enjoy a cocktail making session. Who doesn’t love cocktails (or mocktails)? Invest in a cocktail making kit or find a class or recipe online. Then mix away and sample each other’s creations. This is also a great way to create a signature drink for your big day.
Make it a game night. There are lots of great board games that work for two people, including classics like Scrabble, chess and card games. Alternatively, do an online quiz, or challenge each other to a video game marathon.
Take a trip down memory lane. Let’s be honest, we rarely take the time to go through our photo albums or camera rolls. Crack open a bottle of wine and reminisce over some of your favourite moments together. You can also pull out your childhood pics and share some of your early memories and embarrassing stories. It’s amazing how much you can still learn about your partner, no matter how long you’ve been together!
Dance it out. Dancing is one of the best ways to get some stress relief, so create a playlist of each of your favourite songs, and let your hair down! Don’t forget to include some sweet romantic slow tunes!
