Narnia inspired winter wedding styled shoot

There’s something particularly evocative about childhood memories and those magical worlds conjured up by the books we read. Who hasn’t imagined stepping through the wardrobe into a magical winter landscape, after reading C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia? This was the inspiration for this styled shoot, packed with ideas for anyone considering a winter wedding.

The goal for the shoot was to create a world that blended fashion-forward elements with a luxurious twist, while still retaining little details that couples could recreate for their winter wedding. Crondon Park’s baronial barn was the dream setting, and the team of talented suppliers all contributed their own ideas to bring the theme to life, including Make Me Bridal pro, Samantha Easter, of Beautiful You. Prepare to be inspired!

When creating the hair and makeup for model, Emily, the aim was to create a look of sheer, timeless elegance. To do this, Samantha chose timeless makeup that beautifully enhanced Emily’s features and made her glow against the frosty backdrop of the flowers and décor.

Bridal Hair by Marina combined this with Hollywood waves. The gowns were supplied by Martels Bridal Boutique and, combined with the glamorous hair and makeup, were truly stunning. Emily soon got into the spirit of playing the White Witch!

For the styling and décor, the team wanted the look to be luxurious and frosty, yet accessible, so they focused on the colour scheme of white and green. The flowers were all high quality silk, a mix of crisp white blooms contrasted with frosty green foliage. Candles glowed in glass jars, with white linens, silver place settings, glittering glassware,  frost-tipped greenery and touches of sparkle that glimmered like snow in the winter sunlight.

Snowflake-shaped shortbread biscuit favours and mini meringues completed the look, and a snowy willow tree was placed above the table setting. And of course, let’s not forget the sparkly, snowflake-decked cake with silver foil detail. It’s ideal for a festive December wedding but would be just as lovely in January or February.
