Briony and Thomas’ January wedding took place in the atmospheric surroundings of Craig Y Nos Castle in South Wales, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, with the Black Mountain range beyond.
The look was boho luxe with pops of yellow and navy, with beautifully vibrant arrangements created by the bride’s aunt that brought the classic backdrop to life. The bride looked like a winter goddess, with an ethereal cape and a fur stole for later in the evening. Make Me Bridal pro, Janet White-Ashby & Co., styled her hair to match in long, loose waves, that were the perfect mix of natural and glam.
Briony wanted to wear her beautiful hair down, set into a Hollywood wave, and incorporating a sparkly hair vine fitted in 1920s style. To create the look, her hair was curled and left to set, while Janet created her gorgeous natural makeup, designed to enhance the bride’s own unique beauty. Once this step was complete, she combed, then brushed through the hair, to make the waves sleek and shiny throughout the day.
One of the elements that makes Craig Y Nos Castle so special is that it was once owned by renowned opera singer Adelina Patti. Many wedding ceremonies now take place in the soprano’s private auditorium, designed to be her miniature version of La Scala. So it was only fitting that music formed a very special part of Briony and Thomas’ day as well.
Briony has always been into theatricals and has a beautiful voice, and in the evening she gave the guests a private performance as she sang to her new husband. Janet was lucky enough to have a preview, as the bride practiced her song while she was creating her wedding day image – a very emotional moment!
