It was classic English country charm all the way for Isy and Ope, who married in late summer at the stunning Buckhurst Park in East Sussex. The couple, who had already had a traditional Nigerian wedding, opted for a colour scheme of pink, sage green and soft neutrals to complement the abundant flowers and elegant rustic feel of this second joyful celebration. Isy wowed in a tulle and pearl mikado gown with sheer sleeves by Emma Beaumont. Her effortlessly beautiful look was finished off with gorgeous makeup and hair by Make Me Bridal pros Sylwia Kunysz and Rosie Hart, respectively.

The bride had a clear sense of the look she wanted for her big day, but was also happy to follow Sylvia’s expertise when it came to the details of her makeup. She wanted a natural look; a fresh complexion with a satin finish and defined, elongated eyes. Having looked after her skin well in the lead-up to the wedding and kept it hydrated, Sylvia had the perfect base. She notes: “The best foundation for great looking makeup is beautiful skin!”

Sylvia uses natural and organic products whenever she can, so to create Isy’s look, she used Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation, which is super pigmented and gives a satiny, natural finish with great coverage. She added a rosy blusher from another organic brand, Couleure Caramel, a touch of bronzer from Alima Pure, and a combination of bisque and vanilla matte eye shadows from ILIA Beauty and RMS Beauty on the lids. To emphasise Isy’s eyes, she used a few individual eyelashes. The lipstick was a favourite of the bride’s, Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tillbury.

The wedding day was truly a joyful occasion. After a service at the beautiful village church in Withyham, Isy, Ope and their guests adjourned to the spectacular grounds of Buckhurst Park for a marquee reception overlooking the lake and estate, and Winnie the Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood beyond. The gorgeous floral arrangements were created by the mother of one of their closest friends, Jessy, who also served as a bridesmaid. Isy’s bridesmaids each wore different but complementary gowns in both solid pastels and floral prints, which added a lovely whimsical touch.

Sylwia is a London-based makeup artists who is always willing to travel to accommodate her clients. Her aim is to create a look that will make the bride relaxed and confident, and that takes into account her personal style, as well as her wedding style and colour scheme.

Surrey hair stylist Rosie takes a similar approach, believing that there is nothing more beautiful than a woman confident in her own skin. She describes her signature style as natural, romantic, and boho.
