A graceful, Grade I listed country manor house venue nestled in acres upon acres of formal gardens and surrounding parkland, show-stopping florals, crisp white linens and tall candelabras decked with trails of ivy… not to mention a bride positively radiant in her exquisite Riki Dalal gown. Brogan and Mark’s summer wedding at Wiston House in Sussex was the epitome of timeless elegance. Every detail was perfection, including Brogan’s stunning bridal updo – thanks to Make Me Bridal hair pro Gavin Harvie, who was on the scene to create the look, as well as those of Brogan’s gorgeous bridesmaids.
When Gavin first met Brogan for her wedding hair trial, she was growing out a sleek jaw length bob. Like many brides, however, she had her heart set on a sophisticated updo for her wedding day. Gavin experimented with a few loose, messy buns, including clip-in extensions for extra volume. But in the end, to complement Brogan’s Riki Dalal illusion lace gown, they decided on an elegant textured bun using only the bride’s natural hair. The simplicity of the style worked perfectly against the beautiful intricacy of the dress, with its open back and flared train. The guests – and the groom, of course! – were truly blown away.
Gavin (assisted by Sonya Jayne Bridal) was also responsible for creating the bridesmaids’ looks. As a contrast to the bride’s updo, they chose loose waves, which looked gorgeous with their flowing blush satin gowns. There was so much love, support and positivity in the room as the bride and her seven girls, together with Brogan’s mum, got ready on the morning of the wedding. And despite lots of laughs, everyone was ready perfectly on time, with their makeup expertly done by Elenda Bedwell.
