With a 1950s feel and a truly unique location, this shoot is bold, quirky, and oh-so-inspiring! Parktannas Retro Yard in Lancashire set the scene with its vintage cars and garage (complete with antique machinery), with a bride and groom looking retro glam in a tea length dress and suspenders, respectively. Make Me Bridal pro, Nicola Jane, rose to the occasion with a vintage-inspired makeup look that any glamorous modern bride would covet. The bride’s bold red lip, especially, is a perfect complement to the other red details in the shoot, including ruby heels and a beautiful pink and red bouquet.
In creating the look, Nicola aimed to keep the makeup simple, with flawless skin, defined brows, and a bold red lip. This follows some of the decade’s most iconic makeup elements: creamy foundation, tapered eyebrows with a prominent arch, and of course that fire engine red lipstick! One of Marilyn Monroe’s favourite shades, it’s certain to make any bride feel like a Hollywood bombshell. Nicola’s gorgeous makeup was paired with perfectly coiffed hair, which also featured classic 1950s elements, in the side part and chignon updo.
This colourful shoot recently made its debut – with a cover, no less! – in Lancashire and Lake District Bride Magazine.
