It may still be chilly outside, but our thoughts turn towards spring as we head outdoors with this English country wedding inspiration. Set in beautiful Blandford in Dorset, at the charming venue of Knighton House, the look is elegant with a touch of vintage, and captures the gorgeous sun-dappled light and freshness of the apple orchards in spring. Abundant florals and a timelessly chic wedding gown complement the countryside setting perfectly, with Make Me Bridal pro, Wendy Peart of Sapphire Styling completing the look with soft, natural bridal hair and makeup.
The model for the shoot was a gorgeous redhead, with pale alabaster skin and dark eyes. In keeping with the overall style, Wendy kept the hair and makeup natural and elegant – the classic English Rose look. She created two romantic hairstyles, both using vintage-style waves and a fabulous flower crown. The first was left down with pretty waves around the face, while the second was a loose updo with a few loose tendrils. Both perfect for a spring bride! For the no-makeup makeup look, Wendy used natural tones with just a pop of colour on the bride’s lips.
Nestled in the idyllic Dorset countryside, the gardens at Knighton House made the perfect romantic backdrop to the shoot. This stunning Georgian property – home to a preparatory school but now available as an elegant wedding venue – is set on an extensive twenty-acre estate that includes rolling lawns, woodlands, and panoramic views. The orchard – often used for ceremonies – made for a delightfully intimate location. The table décor was an eye-catching mix of rustic and refinement, with vintage crockery and silverware, striking black tapers, and butter-soft linens set atop a wooden table under the trees. The heavenly florals looked as if they were picked straight from the meadow, and also included apples and berries for added texture. The stationery suite was printed on hand torn paper, while wooden rounds with calligraphy names adorned each place setting.
