Oh we do love to be beside the seaside! This shoot brings all the nostalgic glory of the British seaside into the modern day, with a touch of romantic boho and a palette that perfectly transitions from summer into autumn. Produced by a talented team of local creatives, this coastal bridal shoot is set at the iconic Penarth Pier Pavilion in Wales, and features sweet floral crowns, sumptuous bouquets, elegant dresses and jewellery, and beautiful hair and makeup by Make Me Bridal pro, Janet White-Ashby & Co. It was recently featured on the cover and across a three-page spread in Your South Wales Wedding magazine.
To suit the boho wedding theme, Janet created natural glam looks for the three brides that perfectly accented their features as well as the gowns from CocoMio Bridal. All three ladies wore intricate flower crowns – one set atop an updo with soft curls, a second paired with a loose ponytail, and the third with a stylish fishtail braid. For the makeup, Janet chose a luminous base of Diorskin Forever, a skin enhancing radiance foundation with built in resistance to heat and humidity that is perfect for a beach wedding. For the eyes, she used Urban Decay’s Naked3 eyeshadow palette, with its gorgeous range of rose-hued neutrals. She added a dusting of Bobbi Brown Blush in Pale Pink for that sea air flush, and finished off the look with Lipstick Queen’s ‘The Truth’, a pretty pinky nude that suits most brides.
Penarth Pier formed a perfectly picturesque backdrop for this coastal styled shoot. A Victorian era pier in the charming resort town of Penarth in South Wales, it has been extensively renovated and was voted Pier of the Year in 2014. The brides made use of the detailed cast iron railings for photographs, and also enjoyed a stroll on the pebble beach – a gorgeous location for a couple shoot if you’re planning a wedding in Wales!
