The morning of the wedding is such a special time, and as wedding hair and makeup pros, we have the honour of being part of it. The excitement and anticipation, the loving support of lifelong friends, the air of celebration, and of course, the beautiful transformation as a woman becomes a bride. This lovely styled shoot from Make Me Bridal pro, Kate Waller, pays tribute to this magical part of the big day, along with some of the fun, elegant and enjoyable ways to spend it with your bridesmaids. Kate says: “I loved the idea of showing some elegant examples of the morning of the wedding with the bridesmaids. I’ve included a breakfast, Prosecco, silk robes, hair and makeup being done, the wedding shoes being showcased, and the bridesmaids helping the bride with her dress before the ceremony. It’s such an exciting part of the day, and a part that can be relaxing with moments to remember with the nearest and dearest.”

In line with the relaxed, elegant nature of the shoot, Kate opted for simple, pared-back bridal and bridesmaid looks for her models. These are very much on-trend at the moment. “Keep skin fresh and flawless,” Kate says, “with natural, barely-there makeup.” To finish the bridal style, hair stylist Emily Gregory chose a sleek ballerina-style bun, with pretty pearl embellishments.

As a makeup artist, Kate loves this special time before the wedding, the quiet before the sometimes nervous and busy parts of the day. A time when you can enjoy every moment with your best friends, making memories and being pampered. To make it extra special, ensure you have bubbles at the ready, comfortable but photo-friendly robes and slippers for all the girls, and the photographer and hair and makeup artist briefed and ready. “I see my job as such an important part of the morning,” says Kate. “I absolutely love being a part of it, and will always stay until you leave for the ceremony, in case any touch-ups are needed.” You can see more from this gorgeous shoot on the English Wedding Blog.
